Call for papers on Migration and Education

The 5th Cultural Diversity, Migration, and Education Conference

The Cultural Diversity, Migration and Education (CDME) conference will mark the fifth edition of the conference funded by the German Research Foundation. Migration and education continue to be debated and intertwined topics, in the midst of current global crises including on-going wars and conflicts, rising authoritarianism, and climate change. To address these global challenges there is a need for collective efforts. Therefore, the theme for the fifth conference is “Emphasizing Collective Research, Action, and Communication”. The focus lies on how cultural and migration-related diversity contributes to young people’s educational experiences and outcomes. The conference program reunites scholars and community-based actors that represent a wide range of expertise.

When & where?

The conference will take place ❗August 19-21, 2025❗in Potsdam, Germany. 

Submission Guidelines

●       Abstract: Submit a 500-word(max) abstract by ❗Friday, April 25, 2025

●       Indicate one domain that suits your abstract best (domains are: Pre-school, Elementary school, Secondary school, College, Teachers, Peers, Outside of School, or Other)

 Join the conference European Perspectives on Stakeholders in Education

“Partners for a successful educational landscape”

Education plays an important role in the social success of each and every individual, in social cohesion, in participation in the life of society and in political life, and therefore in democracy. Beyond that, education is closely linked to health and sustainable development. One of the major challenges facing society today is to guarantee equal access to education. Therefore, the Euro-Institute for Cross-Border Cooperation would like to invite you to the European Perspectives on Stakeholders in Education conference. The conference focuses on the theme “Partners for a successful educational landscape” and wants to be a platform to discuss these issues of quality and equity in education, highlighting the current challenges surrounding education, the sharing of skills in this area and partnerships in education.

→ This conference will be held only in German and French!

 Join the Policy Roundtable on Global Citizenship Education

“Breaking Barriers: Global Citizenship Education for Inclusive Participation” 

This event launches SOLIDAR Foundation’s 2025 advocacy cycle on Global Citizenship Education (GCE), where they will explore how Global Citizenship Education (GCE) reaches out to learners from diverse socio-economic backgrounds. The insights gathered during this Policy Roundtable with the theme “Breaking barriers: Global Citizenship Education for Inclusive Participation” will directly inform the upcoming Policy Paper of SOLIDAR on this vital topic. The evidence-based policy recommendations developed from this work will be showcased at the Thematic Annual Conference in the European Parliament on December 2nd, bringing together key EU education and training policymakers and marking the conclusion of their three-year thematic cycle on GCE.
