This working paper explores multi-stakeholder collaboration in the field of international mobility in education, and, specifically, the opportunities and barriers in improving the research-practice-policy knowledge triangle as a basis for effective action. This paper draws together discussion points from a series of events hosted by the EU-funded BRiDGE project with participants from European civil society organisations, national and regional agencies, and from academic research and policymaking, all experts in the field of internationalisation in education. By confronting their different perspectives and needs, the project event participants took initial steps forward in addressing prevailing issues as a newly formed learning community. This paper is the outcome of those first steps, discussing the nature and challenges of collaboration; the production, access and appropriateness of research; and the ideals of inclusive mobility versus the local realities.
